Swift supplies a broad range of Cutting Wires for cutting foams, packaging and insulation materials. These abrasive wires are used in Europe, North America and Asia and are of proven quality. Each order is custom made for our customers, depending on what material you are cutting and the type of machine you are using.

Our abrasive wires are used to cut materials such as:

  • Rockwool
  • Foam Glass
  • Phenolic Foam
  • Extruded Polystyrene
  • Polyurethane, rigid and flexible
  • Calcium Silicate
  • Rebonded PU foam

Length of wire loop: 2 metres to 12 metres, as requested
Recommended wire tension: 1.2 to 1.5 barometers
Diameter of finished wire, including the ‘wrap’: 1.5 to 1.8 mm
Our cutting wires are made in Europe from German specialty steel and have been proven performers for several decades.
Each wire has a core of carbon steel. The core is ‘wrapped’ with a different alloy depending on the final use. These wraps include high carbon steel, stainless steel, molybdenum alloy and tungsten alloy steel. Tungsten alloy generally offers higher endurance but is higher priced compared to our standard wires.
